Saint Spyridon Trimifuntsky Saint Spyridon Trimifuntsky, also known as Saint Spyridon of Trimythous, is a revered saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He was born in Cyprus in the 4th century and is known for his holiness and miracles. Saint Spyridon is often depicted in icons as a bishop holding a Gospel book and a staff. He is also sometimes shown with a small model of a church in his hand, representing his role as a defender of the faith at the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. One of the most famous miracles attributed to Saint Spyridon is the restoration of a dead child to life. It is said that he prayed fervently and the child was brought back to life, much to the amazement of all who witnessed it. Saint Spyridon is venerated as a patron saint of travelers, sailors, and shepherds. His feast day is celebrated on December 12th in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Icons of Saint Spyridon are often found in Orthodox churches and homes, where he is invoked for his intercession in times of need. His example of faith, humility, and miraculous deeds continue to inspire believers to this day.
