Hieromartyr Charalampius Hieromartyr Charalampius, also known as Saint Charalampus, was a priest in the early Christian Church who lived during the reign of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus. He was known for his piety, compassion, and miraculous healing abilities. Saint Charalampius was arrested and brought before the Roman authorities for his Christian faith. Despite facing torture and persecution, he remained steadfast in his beliefs and refused to renounce Christ. He was subjected to various forms of torture, including being burned with torches and having his flesh scraped with iron hooks. Throughout his ordeal, Saint Charalampius continued to pray fervently and preach the Gospel to those around him. His faith and resilience inspired many who witnessed his suffering. Eventually, he was martyred for his faith, becoming a shining example of steadfastness and devotion to Christ. Saint Charalampius is venerated as a hieromartyr and a patron saint of healing and protection against disease. His feast day is celebrated on February 10th in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Icons depicting Saint Charalampius often show him holding a cross and a torch, symbolizing his faith and his martyrdom. He is revered as a powerful intercessor for those in need of healing and protection.
