Endeavour Space Shuttle The Endeavour Space Shuttle was one of the orbiters in NASA"s Space Shuttle program. It was built as a replacement for the Challenger Space Shuttle, which was tragically lost in a 1986 accident. The Endeavour made its first flight in 1992 and went on to complete 25 missions, including the first servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.
The Endeavour was named after the HMS Endeavour, the ship that carried Captain James Cook on his first voyage of discovery in the 18th century. The space shuttle was known for its versatility and was used for a variety of missions, including deploying satellites, conducting scientific experiments, and assembling the International Space Station.
The Endeavour was retired along with the rest of the Space Shuttle fleet in 2011, after completing its final mission to the International Space Station. It is now on display at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, where visitors can learn about its history and the legacy of the Space Shuttle program.
