Saint Spyridon is often depicted in Orthodox iconography as a bishop holding a Gospel book and a shepherd"s staff, symbolizing his role as a shepherd of the faithful. He is also sometimes shown with a vessel of myrrh, representing the miraculous myrrh that flowed from his relics.
