Mazda MX 5 Speedster concept 2015 The Mazda MX-5 Speedster concept was introduced in 2015 as a lightweight, stripped-down version of the popular MX-5 Miata. The Speedster concept aimed to showcase the pure driving experience of the MX-5 by removing non-essential components and focusing on performance and handling.
The Speedster concept featured a number of weight-saving modifications, including a carbon fiber removable hardtop, carbon fiber doors, lightweight 16-inch RAYS wheels, and a custom Alcantara interior. The concept also had a lowered ride height and upgraded suspension for improved handling.
Under the hood, the Speedster concept was powered by the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine found in the standard MX-5, producing around 155 horsepower. The lightweight construction and performance upgrades of the Speedster concept allowed for a more engaging and responsive driving experience.
While the Mazda MX-5 Speedster concept was never put into production, it served as a testament to the MX-5"s versatility and performance capabilities. The concept highlighted the potential for further customization and performance enhancements for the MX-5 platform, appealing to driving enthusiasts looking for a more focused and exhilarating driving experience.
